In February our 6th form college students took part in some fun and enriching activities. Some learned to cook in our “lean in post 16” sessions led by the wonderful Mrs Thornton. Students were taught how to cook on a shoestring budget, perfect for preparing for life at university or independent living. Whilst some students opted for some lifesaving activities responding to realtime 999 emergency calls and planning the responses required. There was some life saving first aid training in which students learned the basics needed for resuscitation. Some students worked up a sweat competing enthusiastically in our mixed Basketball tournament. There were some who opted for some essential life skills and learned the basics of how to iron, handwash and cook an omelette. This showing that learning outside of the classroom at Excelsior college is just as important.
