Careers and Next Steps

At Excelsior Sixth Form, we help students explore their options and make informed decisions about life after school. Careers learning is built into PSHE, Be Ready sessions and the wider Sixth Form programme, alongside individual guidance.

We work with students to understand their interests, strengths and ambitions, broaden their awareness of opportunities and challenge stereotypes about careers. Guidance takes account of each student’s qualifications, circumstances and intended next step.

The team supports students with researching university, further education, apprenticeships, training and employment; preparing CVs, personal statements and applications; and practising interview skills. Students can also ask for help understanding entry requirements, deadlines and student finance information.

Families are encouraged to discuss next steps with the Sixth Form team. Students can request a careers conversation through their tutor or the Sixth Form team.
