Excelsior Academy's Key Stage 3 pupils enjoyed an action-packed Sports Day on Monday 6 July, taking part in a wide range of inclusive activities that celebrated teamwork, participation and personal achievement.

Designed to ensure every pupil could get involved, the event saw tutor groups competing as one of four teams – Eagles, Falcons, Thunder and Magpie – as they rotated around a carousel of ten different challenges.

The activities tested a variety of skills including agility, speed, endurance, target practice and teamwork, giving every pupil the opportunity to contribute points towards their team's overall total. The focus on inclusion meant that Sports Day was about much more than sporting ability, encouraging all pupils to take part, support one another and enjoy being active together.

A special mention goes to Excelsior Academy's Sports Leaders, who played a key role in making the day such a success. Arriving before school to help set up the events, they ran activities independently throughout the day and supported tutor groups as they moved between challenges. Their enthusiasm, organisation and leadership were outstanding and they should be incredibly proud of the contribution they made.

The event provided a fantastic way to round off another successful year of PE at Excelsior Academy, with pupils demonstrating excellent teamwork, determination and school spirit throughout the day.

Thank you to the PE team, Sports Leaders and everyone who helped make the day such a memorable success. We wish all of our pupils and families a safe, restful and enjoyable summer holiday.
