A-Level and Vocational Success at Excelsior Academy

Staff and families at Excelsior Academy are celebrating the outstanding A-level and vocational results achieved by our sixth-form students. Their dedication and hard work have opened the door to a wide array of exciting opportunities for their future educational journeys.

This year, our students are embarking on diverse academic paths, pursuing degrees in fields such as law, media communications, mechanical engineering, and nursing. Amongst the high achievers, Alfie is heading to the University of Edinburgh to study Environmental Geoscience, Noshin will be pursuing a Pharmacy degree at the University of Bradford, and Ryan is set to complete his Business Finance Management studies at the University of Sunderland.

Alfie Biggerstaff, who proudly received three A grades in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Geography, expressed his excitement about the next chapter of his education:

"I’m thrilled with my results and grateful for the support I’ve received from the teachers and staff at Excelsior Academy. I’m looking forward to studying Environmental Geoscience at Edinburgh University and making the most of the opportunities ahead."

Excelsior Academy students are also moving forward in various other pathways. Many are starting apprenticeships, including roles with Network Rail, the NHS Ambulance Service, and within the education sector. Some will continue their journey with us, working as apprentices for the Laidlaw Schools Trust.

“I am immensely proud of our students and their accomplishments this summer. Our sixth form feels like a close-knit family, and the students' commitment to their studies has truly paid off. We are excited to see them embark on new and fulfilling futures. We also look forward to welcoming new students in September, where Excelsior Academy continues to offer a diverse range of high-quality academic and vocational courses.”
